Day 1: Perth – Kalbarri

We start our coastal loop adventure by moving via the Indian Ocean Drive to Geraldton. From there, we continue up the coast for a lunch break in this city. Just ahead lies The Hutt Lagoon Pink Lake. Then, it is off towards the dramatic coastline just south of Kalbarri, and take an easy stroll between the Natural Bridge and Castle Cove. Tonight, we will be staying over in the quiet seaside town of Kalbarri, where the Murchison River drains into the Indian Ocean.

Day 2: Kalbarri – Monkey Mia

To capture a picturesque view of the Murchison Gorge, Nature’s Window, and the Kalbarri Skywalk in Kalbarri National Park, where water has cut through sandstone, all that you have to do is get up early. You will find bright bursts of colours right here during the wildflower season (in spring). For lunch and refreshments at their own cost, tourists can pass by the renowned Billabong Roadhouse– an iconic landmark that has been catering for Western Australian visitors since 1962. Next up, we visit the impressive Shell Beach and take a walk on the tiny shell beach.
We will be staying at the Monkey Mia Dolphin Resort right by the beach in Shark Bay, which is a World Heritage Listed area where dolphins live. You can choose to rent a Kayak and go paddling (extra charge), lie on the beach or in the resort, or look for turtles, dugongs, emus and kangaroos that inhabit this area.

Day 3: Monkey Mia – Geraldton

On this day, we will have the chance to meet up with the well-known dolphins of Monkey Mia and take some amazing close-up photographs. At nine o’clock, the dolphin event ends; then, you can either bask in the sun on one of Monkey Mia’s beaches or go for a wildlife cruise where you can spot dugongs, turtles, sharks, sea snakes, stingrays, sea birds as well as fish (guests should pre-book these separately and will be charged).
However, those who won’t go on the cruise can meet at 11 a.m. to head to Eagle Bluff to check out some sharks and turtles before heading back into Denham for a walk along the foreshore and having lunch there. We leave Denham at 1.30 p.m. and go straight to Geraldton via Overlander Road House and Galena Bridge, where we will make it a point to take photos. Finally, after arriving at Geraldton between 6 and 6:30 p.m., we will spend the night near the beach.

Day 4: Geraldton – Perth

Marvel at the HMAS Sydney Memorial, which boasts breathtaking views of Geraldton. A visit to Geraldton is incomplete without dropping by Point Moore Lighthouse. Then, proceed to Port Denison, where you could take a stroll on the beach and climb up a hill that gives you a good view of the sea. Afterwards, turn back on Indian Ocean Drive and make a stop at Jurien Bay with its Jetty walk.
Next, we move on to the beautiful small coastal town of Cervantes where we have our fancy lunch at Western Australia’s famous Lobster shack as well as a guided tour around their Lobster factory. We then proceed to Nambung National Park, which is home to the amazing Pinnacles Desert, where visitors can take walks through this odd and haunting landscape. For the final part of our journey, we will spend some time relaxing on board while enjoying scenic country views until about 6:30 p.m., when drop-offs begin in Perth.

Monkey Mia is located in the Shark Bay World Heritage area, about 900km north of Perth in Western Australia.

Certainly! Shark Bay’s Monkey Mia is a place with many attractions for lovers of the beach, water sports, and simply chilling out. It is a must-see place for tourists.

The best time to visit Monkey Mia is early summer (December through February) because of the best weather conditions.

This dolphin experience area is free from boating, swimming, and fishing so that the dolphins can come there undisturbed and for the rangers of the Parks and Wildlife Service can watch their health.

Monkey Mia dolphins are important scientific subjects that allow researchers to explore their ecology, genetics, and social structure. Rangers feed dolphins three times every morning from 7:45 a.m. to noon.

Monkey Mia dolphins are called Indo-Pacific Bottlenose Dolphins, a subspecies of common bottlenose dolphins.

Monkey Mia Beach has calm waters, which make it a great place for beginners to try snorkelling.

Swimming can be safe in Shark Bay, though the waters may appear still during winter despite the influence of the hot Leeuwin current.
